Seismic surveys for geothermal energy in the region have been completed

The Vibro-Trucks have been operating in Kaiserslautern and the surrounding area since 13 November 2025. After just under four weeks, we were able to complete the measurements on 9 December 2025. The small orange-grey plastic cubes (geophones), which had been scattered everywhere, have already been collected again.

On Saturday, 15 November 2025, we will be showcasing a survey vehicle at the green waste collection point in Mackenbach. Between 10.30 am and 1.30 pm, you will have the opportunity to see this impressive specialist lorry up close – and even watch it in action with a demonstration of the vibration technology. Visit our information stand to find out more about geothermal energy.

So-called geophones have already been installed in some areas of our survey site. More will follow. These small measuring devices detect vibrations in the ground – nothing more. Please ensure that you leave the geophones where they are.

On Saturday 11 October, we will be demonstrating how we carry out seismic measurements in the car park at Volkspark, on the corner of Entersweilerstraße and Kniebrech. From 9.00 am to 1.00 pm, you can see the impressive measurement vehicles up close. We will be demonstrating live how the technology works. Experience the demonstration of vibrations and vibration technology first-hand! Find out everything you need to know about our geothermal project. Our team will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about the measurements, the truck and geothermal energy.
